Kahurangi National Park encompasses the North-West corner of the South Island, and includes walks such as the Heaphy Track.
Abel Tasman National Park is known for its beautiful golden sandy beaches and magical coastal walks. This park includes Totaranui and Awaroa beaches, both accessible by road from Golden Bay.
Beaches - from the wild west-coast Wharariki beach with its towering dunes and archway islands, to the boating and swimming friendly golden sands of Tata Beach.
Visit Waikoropupu Springs - the largest fresh water spring in the Southern hemisphere. Go fishing - catch them wild at the Salmon Farm. How about mountain biking along the well known Rameka Track. Or kayaking - a great way to enjoy the local coastline.
